The Dita shoe philosophy

Through our unwavering commitment to innovation and technology, Dita creates comfortable shoes with an outstanding performance. We are of the opinion that shoes should meet certain standards with regard to stability, grip, comfort, shock absorption and weight.

We at Dita have put all our expertise at work to achieve an optimum mix of these standards. Whether you are a professional or an avid recreational player, you’ll find the right Dita shoe to play with.

We design our own mid-and outsoles and use only high grade quality rubber and EVA. Recently Dita introduced two brand-new developments, the DSS ( double stability ) system and the ER ( easy roll ) system. DSS (=Double Stability System) is a double-density system at 4 different locations in the midsole to improve the stability of the shoe. These 4 locations reduce the chance of “over pronating “ or “over supinating “ ER (=Easy Roll System) will help to unroll the foot from outside ( backpart ) to inside ( frontpart ) by using a softer phylon on the outside at the back. You are then forced to unroll outside/inside.

Stability Standard

1.thermoplastic and/or hot melt heel caps should make sure that the foot is “locked” at the back, this stabilizes the rear foot. of the middle part of the upper should make sure that the feet are nicely enclosed.
3. outsole/midsole with a certain width and “flare” position will create extra stability.
4. the midsole has the form of a cup, this stabilizes the total foot.
5.height of the foot. The higher one stands, the more instability.
6, a special torsion plate gives extra torsion stiffness .

Grip Standard

1.length of studs

It makes a difference whether you play on a sand or a water pitch. In our opinion sand pitches require more and smaller studs then when playing on water pitches. Less and bigger studs on a sand pitch will give you less grip and will feel less comfortable. However on water pitches a fraction longer studs will help you from slipping. Please do realise that too much grip is not good either; it can block the feet, resulting in possible knee and other injuries. In general studs should not be too hard as they will brake more easily and feel less comfortable. In some cases like severe turning and abrupt stopping it might help to have studs with a “flare position” on the edge of the outsole.

Most of the outsoles are also suitable for dry normal grass pitches and for hard grounds.


2.flex zones in midsole and outsole

In case one is fitting a shoe one should “feel” the shoe in the width like a second skin; a shoe which you do not feel is likely to feel too wide after a while. The fact that you slightly feel the shoe when fitting means it will give you the necessary and comfortable support you require once wearing and using the shoe extensively. The shoe should bend nicely at the so-called flex zones in the forefoot This will save energy while running. Then sufficient padding and correct fabric will prevent your feet from friction.

2.materials used

Most of the midsoles are made of moulded EVA. It is light and has nice shock absorbing qualities. Most midsoles have one hardness. Apart from the standard midsole, Dita offers a midsole with various hardness’s as well ( DSS system ) This gives stability to the rear foot and mid foot. High grade comfortable removable innersoles


The lighter the shoe the more energy you will save.However there is always a certain minimum weight required to achieve the optimum balance of the other standards. The optimum weight is the weight you feel comfortable with.
