Biceps bulging, bare-chested, and battling for position in front of the net at the US Olympic Training Center, Nate Coolidge looks like the last guy on earth you’d think of to wear a plaid blue skirt. But he did just that in high school to play on the girls’ field hockey team at Sandwich High School.
From there, he went on to play for Team USA as one of the top male players in the country.
Following retirement he lives in Waterton, Massachusetts and serves on the Junior USMNT coaching staff. He owns and coaches the Boston Field Hockey Club. He is a great role model on and off the field. He has a big personality and is a loving dog owner. Nate adopted a rescue dog many years ago and named him Dita, the Urdu word translates as 'gift from God' or 'love.' Dita, the dog, will be 15 in January of 2021.
